Shino-Yaki Matcha Tea Bowl Masayama Kiln

Shino-Yaki glazed matcha tea bowl skilfully fired in the Masayama kiln in Mino, Japan. The chawan is thick-walled, giving a weighted feel when drinking from the vessel. A rustic abstract motif is featured around the bowl. Its earthy tones emulate warmness and calm. The base remains unglazed showing a portion of the tea bowl in its natural unfinished state. 

The makers mark is etched into the base of the bowl and it is sold in a handmade tomobako box made from Paulownia wood.
